All of our cattle are treated with kindness, and respect. We adhere to a clean natural life style for them. This includes no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no genetically modified feeds, never fed grain, only our homegrown hay and grass – all they can eat, all the time along with plenty of fresh, clean, cool water. We provide them shade in the summer and shelter in the winter. They are, by cow standards, pampered.
Our herd stock started with our Daughter, Jestine’s Show String of Charlotte Cows bred to Angus Bulls. The diversity of our head has grown over time and because the demand is so great for our carefully cultivated beef; we have had to recruit a few of our neighboring cattle ranchers to help meet that demand by supplying us with feeder calves. All of those enlisted are literally located across the street or across the canal from our home ranch and have agreed to the same strict rearing regiment we use with all of our feeder calves;
NO antibiotics, NO growth hormones, nothing genetically modified and only consume their mother’s milk, and locally grown grass and hay.
The feeder calves not born on our ranches, come to us at about 700-800 pounds. They are finished out on our beautiful, irrigated grass pastures right alongside our home born calves. It takes us an additional 6 to 8 months from this point to get our calves to a finished weight of about 1,200 pounds.
We feel the harvesting process of your meat is just as important as the life process itself. We take great pains in making sure our cattle are not stressed and are harvested as humanely as possible. All of our products are USDA inspected. From our humane harvesting process to our quality vacuum sealed packaging, you can rest assured that the USDA inspector is monitoring every step.
